Murchison Falls National Park, located in northwestern Uganda, is the country’s largest and most iconic national park, spanning approximately 3,840 square kilometers. The park is situated along the Victoria Nile River, which is central to the park’s dramatic landscapes and ecological diversity. Its namesake, Murchison Falls, is one of the park’s main attractions and a true natural wonder. At the falls, the Victoria Nile River is forced through a 7-meter-wide gap in the Rift Valley escarpment, plunging 43 meters into a foaming pool below, creating one of the most powerful waterfalls in the world.
