Experience two of Kenya’s most celebrated wildlife destinations on this expertly crafted 4-day fly-in Kenya Mara Nakuru safari. Combining the vast plains of the Masai Mara with the flamingo-fringed shores of Lake Nakuru, this itinerary is designed for travelers who want maximum wildlife exposure with minimal travel time.
By flying from Mombasa to Nairobi and using road transfers strategically, you’ll spend less time in transit and more time in the heart of Kenya’s premier reserves.

Morning: Flight to Nairobi
Your safari begins with a morning pickup from your Mombasa beach hotel or resort. Transfer to Moi International Airport for your scheduled flight to Nairobi. The approximately one-hour flight offers stunning aerial views of Kenya’s coastline giving way to savannah plains as the sun rises.

Arrival & Scenic Drive to the Mara
Land at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, where your safari guide will welcome you. After a brief orientation, begin the scenic drive to the Masai Mara National Reserve. Along the way, stop at the Great Rift Valley viewpoint—a perfect spot to stretch your legs, take in the sweeping landscape, and browse local artisan crafts.
Arrival & First Game Drive
Arrive at your chosen lodge or tented camp in time for lunch. After settling in, embark on your first afternoon game drive. The Mara’s open grasslands host an extraordinary concentration of wildlife, including lions, elephants, cheetahs, and large herds of wildebeest and zebra.
Dinner & Overnight
Return to camp for dinner and your first night in the heart of the Mara.
Morning Game Drive
Set out at dawn, when the light is soft and predators are most active. Early mornings in the Mara often reveal lion prides on the move, leopards returning from night hunts, and the savannah coming to life.
Exploring the Reserve at the Kenya Mara Nakuru
Your guide will navigate different sectors of the reserve, tailoring the route to current wildlife sightings. The Mara’s biodiversity is unmatched—over 95 mammal species and more than 500 bird species call this ecosystem home.
Bush Picnic Lunch
Midday brings a bush picnic lunch, set beneath an acacia tree with the sounds of the wilderness around you.
Mara River & Migration Sightings
After lunch, drive to the Mara River. Between July and September, this is the epicenter of the Great Wildebeest Migration, where thousands of wildebeest and zebras attempt dramatic river crossings. Even outside migration season, the river is a prime spot for spotting hippos and crocodiles.

Dinner & Overnight
Return to camp for dinner and a second night immersed in the Mara.
Morning Departure
After breakfast, check out and begin the scenic drive to Lake Nakuru National Park. The journey takes approximately 5–6 hours, passing through the dramatic Rift Valley landscape.

Arrival & Afternoon Game Drive
Arrive at your lodge inside Lake Nakuru National Park in time for lunch. After a short rest, head out for an afternoon game drive.
Lake Nakuru is renowned for its dense populations of black and white rhinos, making it one of the best places in Kenya for rhino sightings. The lake’s shores, often tinted pink by flocks of flamingos, also attract a rich variety of birdlife. Keep watch for Rothschild’s giraffes, lions, and leopards as you explore.
Dinner & Overnight
Return to your lodge for dinner and an overnight stay overlooking the lake.

Morning Game Drive
Enjoy a final morning game drive, taking advantage of the early hours when wildlife is most active. This is your last opportunity to photograph rhinos, flamingos, and the park’s other residents before concluding your safari.
Return to Nairobi from Kenya Mara Nakuru
After breakfast, check out and drive back to Nairobi. The journey takes approximately three hours, with optional stops for refreshments along the way.
Lunch & Drop-off
Upon arrival in Nairobi, enjoy a delicious lunch at a local restaurant. Afterward, you’ll be dropped off at your Nairobi hotel or Jomo Kenyatta International Airport for your onward travel.
