Three parks. Six days. One unforgettable journey.
This 6-day Kenya safari circuit takes you from the savannahs of the Masai Mara to the flamingo-fringed shores of Lake Nakuru, then north to Samburu — a semi-arid wilderness home to wildlife found nowhere else in Kenya.
Designed for travelers who want depth and diversity, this itinerary balances game drives with scenic travel, cultural encounters, and the rhythm of life on the road. Each park offers something distinct. Together, they tell the full story of Kenya’s wildlife heritage.

Morning — Arrival & Departure
Your safari begins with an early morning arrival in Nairobi. Your driver-guide meets you and escorts you to the Kairi Travels office for a brief orientation — an opportunity to review the itinerary and ask any final questions.
From Nairobi, you head west toward the Masai Mara. The drive takes 5–6 hours, but the journey itself is part of the experience. A stop at the Great Rift Valley viewpoint offers your first sweeping vista: the escarpment dropping away into a vast, hazy floor stretching toward the horizon. Local artisans often set up here, selling handmade crafts and sharing stories of the valley’s formation.
Afternoon — Arrival & Check-in
You arrive at the Mara in the late afternoon. Your accommodation is Rhino Tourist Camp, located near the Oloolaimutia Gate — a convenient base for game drives.
Check in, settle into your room, and enjoy dinner. The night sounds begin: distant hyena calls, the rustle of wildlife near the camp’s edge.
Overnight: Masai Mara
Dawn — Morning Game Drive
The Mara rewards those who rise early.
Depart after breakfast as the sun lifts over the savannah. Predators are still active; herbivores begin to graze. This is prime time for:
Your guide navigates the Mara’s network of tracks, sharing insights about behavior, ecology, and recent sightings.
Midday — Bush Picnic Lunch
Instead of returning to camp, lunch is served in the bush. A shaded spot, a table set against the savannah, the sounds of the Mara surrounding you. It’s a small luxury that defines the safari experience.
Afternoon — Continued Exploration
The afternoon drive covers different sectors of the reserve. Depending on the season (July–October), you may encounter the Great Migration — wildebeest and zebra herds stretching to the horizon, river crossings filled with drama and dust.
Other residents include:

Overnight: Masai Mara
Evening — Return to Camp from Kenya safari circuit
Return as the sun sets. Dinner is served. Share sightings with fellow travelers. The night sky here is uninterrupted — a canopy of stars visible from the camp.
Morning — Departure
After breakfast, check out and depart for Lake Nakuru National Park, a drive of approximately 5 hours.
En route, you have the option to visit a Maasai village — an opportunity to learn about traditional customs, witness jumping dances, and understand the relationship between pastoralist communities and the wildlife they coexist with.
Afternoon — Arrival & Game Drive
Arrive at Lake Nakuru in time for lunch at your lodge. After checking in and resting, set out for an afternoon game drive.
Lake Nakuru is famous for its flamingos — sometimes numbering in the hundreds of thousands — though water levels in recent years have shifted their feeding patterns. Even without the pink carpet, the lake remains a birdwatcher’s paradise: pelicans, kingfishers, cormorants, and storks are abundant.
The park is also a rhino sanctuary, home to both black and white rhinos. Other residents include:
Evening — Lake Views
Return to your lodge for dinner. The lake’s tranquility at dusk — waterbirds settling, the distant calls of fish eagles — makes for a peaceful evening.
Overnight: Lake Nakuru

Morning — Journey North
After breakfast, depart for Samburu National Reserve. The drive takes you north, crossing the Equator — a photo opportunity and a moment to appreciate the shift in landscape.
From the lush highlands around Nakuru, the terrain transitions to semi-arid bushland as you approach Samburu. This is northern Kenya: rugged, dramatic, and home to species found nowhere else in the country.
Afternoon — Arrival & Game Drive in Kenya safari circuit
Arrive at your Samburu lodge or camp in time for lunch. After a short rest, set out for an afternoon game drive.
Samburu’s wildlife is distinct from the Mara and Nakuru. Look for the “Samburu Special Five”:
Elephants, lions, and leopards also inhabit Samburu, often sighted along the Ewaso Nyiro River that runs through the reserve.
Evening — Camp Life
Return to camp for dinner. The night sounds here are different from the Mara — perhaps a leopard’s rasping call, or the distant whoop of hyenas.
Overnight: Samburu
Dawn — Morning Game Drive
Rise early for a game drive as the sun rises over Samburu’s rugged landscape. The light is golden, the wildlife active, and the temperatures still cool.
Your guide focuses on areas where the “Samburu Special Five” are frequently seen, as well as the riverine zones where elephants and predators gather.
Midday — Picnic Lunch in the Reserve
Lunch is served in the bush — a picnic setup that allows you to stay in the reserve through the midday hours.
Afternoon — Cultural Option & Game Drive
Continue your exploration in the afternoon. You also have the option to visit a Samburu village — an opportunity to learn about the traditions of this pastoralist community, known for their distinctive dress, beadwork, and close relationship with the land.

Evening — Final Night in Kenya safari circuit
Return to camp for dinner. Share stories of the day’s sightings. This is your last night in the wild — a moment to reflect on the diversity of Kenya’s landscapes and wildlife.
Overnight: Samburu
Morning — Final Game Drive & Departure
After breakfast, depart Samburu. As you exit the reserve, there’s one final opportunity for wildlife viewing — lions sometimes hunt near the park boundaries in the early morning.
Scenic Drive Through the Highlands
The journey south takes you past Mount Kenya, the country’s highest peak. The landscape shifts from Samburu’s arid beauty to the lush highlands, where coffee, tea, and pineapple plantations line the road.
Stop for lunch at a picturesque location en route. There may also be opportunities to visit local markets or traditional homesteads, depending on timing.
Afternoon — Arrival in Nairobi from Kenya safari circuit
Arrive in Nairobi by late afternoon. Your driver-guide drops you at your hotel or the airport, marking the end of your safari.
